Holiday Makeup Ideas

‘Tis the season for holiday parties and photo ops.
First, let’s start with red lips. Nothing says I’m in the holiday spirit like rocking a red lipstick. It’s an easy way to transform from day to holiday in just a few minutes. Try a classic old Hollywood vintage red like “Russian Red” from MAC.
If you want to take your red to the next level add a vampy lip liner for more of an ombré look. Use the pencil to outline the lip, then fill in the outer corners and blend. Your lips should fade from darker on the outer edges to brighter in the center.
I’m a firm believer that everything is better with glitter especially during this time of year. Silver and gold are always a great choice. Do your eyeshadow as usual then pat a similarly colored cream eyeshadow on the eyelid. Using a firm synthetic fiber brush, press the glitter over the creamy product and voila it sticks! Glitter can be messy during the application process so apply your eyeliner and mascara afterwards. I would also recommend doing your eyes first with this look. Save the foundation and concealer for later.
If red lips or glitter intimidate you, just try adding a fun colored eyeliner to your normal look. Try a shimmery green eyeliner pencil or eyeshadow smudged over or slightly above your typical brown or black liner. You can keep your lips and eyes otherwise simple. It’s an easy way to wear color without making too much of an effort.
If you look glamorous, you will feel glamorous. Never underestimate the power of a little glitter or red lipstick.
